Paleo Biscuits and Gravy

Ever find yourself craving those traditional comfort foods? I know I sure do. That’s why I created this Biscuits and Gravy recipe. This recipe is 100% Paleo with no added sugars or sugar substitutes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.


QUICK PALEO BISCUIT


Ingredients

  • 1.5 tbsp coconut flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (or preferred fat)

  • 1 tbsp water

  • salt and seasonings (I like Italian) to taste


Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients into a microwave safe container. I like to use a round 2 cup glass pyrex container.

  2. Ensure all ingredients are well combined by mixing with a fork.

  3. Place in the microwave and cook for 90 seconds.

  4. Let it cool and remove it from the container by flipping upside down onto a plate.

  5. Top with gravy and enjoy!


PALEO GRAVY


Ingredients

  • 1 package of Paleo approved sausage (I like this one)

  • 1 package of Paleo approved bacon (I like this one or this one)

  • 1 can of full fat coconut milk

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 2-3 tbsp tapioca flour

Instructions

  1. Cut sausage into small bite size pieces and brown in a skillet on medium heat. Set aside when done.

  2. Cook bacon until desired crispyness and set aside when done.

  3. Add the coconut milk and water to a sauce pan and bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat. Slowly add tapioca flour 1/2 tbsp at a time. Mixing well with a whisk until well combined. Continue adding tapioca until desired thickness. The gravy will clump if the four is added to quickly.

  5. When the desired thickness is reached, remove from heat and stir in sausage and bacon.

  6. Serve over Quick Paleo Biscuit and enjoy!
